2024 Winter Royalty To Be Crowned Friday, Jan. 12

This next week, students at Eureka Junior/Senior High School (EJSHS) will participate in winter royalty festivities. “Once Upon A Winter Royalty” is the theme for this year’s event. Each day the students will have a different Disney theme to follow. The days of the week for next week are as follows: Monday: Sleeping Beauty, pajama day; Tuesday: Monsters U, wear your college gear; Wednesday: Moana, wear tropical/Hawaiian; Thursday: Beauty and the Beast, rhyme without a reason, dress in pairs; Friday: Captain America, wear red, white and blue. Students at Marshall Elementary School are also encouraged to participate in the dress-up days listed above.

Eureka High School Winter Royalty Candidates

Students, that are in grades nine through twelve recently selected the following students for Winter Royalty King and Queen candidates. Pictured from left to right are: first row, king candidates: Paiton Gravatt, Dominic Samuels, Cayden Wesley, Gabe Fansler and Marcus Britain; and back row, queen candidates: Sylvie Frakes Abigail Altis, Gabriella Randall, Kiara Pool and Banff Perkins.

Standing next to the king candidates are this year’s winter royalty crown bearers Allie Knowles and Ridge Samuels, both 1st graders at Marshall Elementary School, in Eureka.

The Winter Royalty King and Queen will be named in a special ceremony during halftime of the boys basketball game, next Friday, Jan. 12. Eureka basketball teams will be facing the Wildcats of Burlington.

Between the varsity girls and boys games next Friday, students in grades 9-12 will share decorated shopping carts.

Students in grades nine through twelve are also invited to attend the winter royalty dance, which will be held from 9:30 – 11:30 p.m., in the Tornado Activity Center (TAC).
