Eureka Teen Killed In UTV Accident In Missouri

A 15-year-old girl was killed July 16, 2023, after she was ejected in a UTV accident in Adair County Missouri.

Kenlee Wallace, 15, of Eureka, was driving a UTV on Sugar Creek School Trail, approximately four miles southwest of Kirksville, Mo., when she veered off the left side of the roadway and overturned. The teen was thrown from the vehicle. According to KTVO, Kenlee was traveling downhill on the gravel road when she lost control of the side-by-side. The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 16. Kenlee was pronounced dead at the scene 15 minutes after the crash.

Kenlee moved to Eureka earlier in the summer of 2023 and was excited to begin her sophomore year as a Tornado. She and her family had just spent the weekend at Great Wolf Lodge before Kenlee traveled to Kirksville with her father to spend the week with him and her friends.

Kenlee loved to bake and had just joined the Cake Batter Batter team. While living in Kirksville, Kenlee was featured by KTVO for her baking skills. The feature read, “While most teenagers might get a part-time job to help them raise money for a new car, 15-year-old Kenlee Wallace does it a little bit differently.” Kenlee offered monthly options and would split the profits between saving for a new vehicle and with a worthy cause in the community.

Kenlee is survived by her parents, Laura Mullin Wallace of Eureka and Kendall Wallace of Kirksville, Mo.; and siblings Lathan and Audrey, of Eureka.

A memorial, in her name, #KindLikeKenlee, was established and through her has continued to show kindness through various acts. Those wishing to donate can do so by sending donations made payable to the Kenlee Wallace Memorial c/o Community National Bank and Trust, 401 N. Main, Eureka, KS 67045.
