Droge Appointed To Serve District 13 In The Kansas House Of Representatives

Dr. Duane Droge of Eureka was appointed to serve District 13 in the Kansas House of Representatives, following a Kansas Republican Committee meeting.

Dr. Duane Droge of Eureka was appointed to serve District 13 in the Kansas House of Representatives, following a Kansas Republican Committee meeting.

The seat was left vacant following the resignation of outgoing Representative Joe Newland, after he was elected to serve as President for Kansas Farm Bureau.

Following the receipt of a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Dr. Droge continued his education, earning his DVM from Kansas State University. Dr. Droge began his career in Veterinary Medicine in 1980 and went on to own and operate Droge Animal Health Center until his retirement six years ago.

Dr. Droge grew up on a farm/ranch in northern Kansas, where his family had cropland, ran a cow/ calf operation and feed lot.

Dr. Droge and his wife Bobbie reside in rural Eureka. He has three children, sons Toren and Jake and daughter Rachel, and seven grandchildren.

While serving the twoyear term, Dr. Droge will represent the people of Greenwood, Wilson, Woodson and Chase counties, as well as a portion of Lyon County.

Dr. Droge was sworn in to take his seat with the Kansas House of Representatives on Monday, Jan. 9, 2023. The District 13 position will next appear on ballots in 2024.
