Eureka’s Lady Tornado wrestling team traveled to Hoisington last Friday, where two Lady Tornadoes went 4-1 to be named as runners-up and the third Tornado went 2-3 to place fourth.
Following are the results for Eureka participants: 125: Maela Neill (12-4) placed 2nd. She won by fall over Skye Johnson (Concordia HS) 2-3 (Fall 1:05); won by fall over Nevaeh Palomino (Holcomb HS) 3-7 (Fall 3:52); won by fall over Allyson Simmons (Larned) 0-6 (Fall 0:27); won by fall over Taryn Bieker (Plainville HS) 6-4 (Fall 1:08); and lost by fall to Kaylea McMullen (Great Bend) 13-2 (Fall 1:37).
190: Harlie Owings (10-5) placed 4th. She won by fall over Abby Becker (Cimarron) 1-5 (Fall 0:39); won by fall over Dennisse Duarte (Holcomb HS) 1-9 (Fall 0:35); lost by fall to Natalee Daniels (Great Bend) 9-2 (Fall 0:40); lost by fall to Hayleen Martinez (Liberal) 12-0 (Fall 2:25); and lost by fall to Caydance Carter (Plainville HS) 12-6 (Fall 0:41).
235: Makyla Gore (11-4) placed 2nd. She won by fall over Aileen Figuero (Liberal) 7-4 (Fall 0:20); won by fall over Amerie Hinz (Hoisington) 6-7 (Fall 1:17); won by fall over Kadence Allen (Scott Community) 3-9 (Fall 1:50); won by fall over Emma Hahn (Ellinwood) 7-6 (Fall 3:20); and lost a 0-3 decision to Haylee Holinde (Hoisington) 11-2.
