EWC’s McCoy Placed First At Warrior Clash

The Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) was represented in Park City over the weekend at the Warrior Clash tournament, with Lady Tornado sixth grader Lakyn McCoy claiming top honors.

The Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) was represented in Park City over the weekend at the Warrior Clash tournament, with Lady Tornado sixth grader Lakyn McCoy claiming top honors.

Following are the individual match wins for EWC participants: 12U Girls 145: Lakyn McCoy placed 1st. She won a 5-0 decision over Khloe Keeler (Maize Wrestling Club); won by fall over Mariyah Henderson-Dorsey (Ark City Takedown Wrestling Cl) (Fall 0:38); won a 10-2 major decision over Scarlett Yeager (Maize Wrestling Club); and won by fall over Mackinnley Soward (Team of Hard Knox) (Fall 0:56).

6U Open 49: Jad Day received a bye; and won by fall over Zachary Brake (Ark City Takedown Wrestling Cl) (Fall 1:54).

12U Open 110: Tate Scott placed 4th. He won a 9-2 decision over Jaston Jordan (Salina wrestling club); won a 12-6 decision over Kortney Akpan (RSA Red Storm); and won by fall over Jaston Jordan (Salina wrestling club) (Fall 0:56).

Also representing Eureka was Tucker Williams, 6U Open 58.
