EJHS Basketball Split With Humboldt Cubs

Members of the Eureka Junior High School basketball teams hosted Humboldt last Thursday, December 14, where they split victories with the Cubs.

Eureka’s Lady Tornadoes claimed both wins over the Cubs. In A-team action, the Tornadoes outscored Humboldt in all four quarters, winning the game 36-24. Scoring for Eureka were Arabella Shepherd 13, Sydney Lindamood 9, Karsyn Osborne 6 and Annie Bogle and Jersey Cox each with 4. In B-team action, the Tornadoes claimed the lead in the first and didn’t look back winning the game 26-18. Scoring for Eureka were McKenna McDonald 9, Amorrette Guilamme 7, Celona Hall 4 and Abby Foth, Sofia Escareno and Winnie Brenckman-Welsh all with 2.

In A-team boys action, the Tornadoes trailed by 4 at the end of the first but the Cubs dominated the second to lead 18-4 at the end of the first half. Despite outscoring the Cubs in the fourth quarter, 11-9, the Tornadoes lost the game 20-39. Scoring for Eureka were Brody Mitchell 6, Tate Scott 5, Wacey Ross 3 and Cash Escareno, Will Morris and Eli Mason all with 2. Eureka’s B-team boys trailed by three after the first quarter and saw the same score difference as the final buzzer sounded, with Eureka falling 30-33. Scoring for Eureka were Christian Sanchez and Morris each with 8, Escareno 5, JaKolby Robbins 4 Dylan Conard 3 and Killian Harrington 2. Up Next
