EWC Battled At Gene White Memorial In Emporia

Members of the Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) traveled to Emporia on Sunday of this week to compete in the Gene White Memorial.

Members of the Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) traveled to Emporia on Sunday of this week to compete in the Gene White Memorial.

The tournament featured two sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.

Following are individual match results for EWC participants: AM Session

6&U 49A: Jad Day placed 1st. He won by forfeit over Tess Passmore (Chase County Wrestling Club).

6&U 52C: Kaydenn Winn placed 4th.

6&U 58A: Tucker Williams placed 3rd. He won a 7-6 decision over Roman Cervantes (Agoge Wrestling Club).

6&U 61-64B: Kade Fisher placed 1st. He won by disqualification over Dakari Payton (Chase County Wrestling Club) Also representing EWC were Keon Jones, 10&U 76B; and Cort Decker, 14&U Lt Hwt.

PM Session

8&U Girls 80-84: Elena McCoy placed 4th.

12&U 72: Brandon Cornett placed 4th. He won by fall over Noble Watkins (Bluestem Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:39); and won by fall over Jaxton Lawrenz (Herington Wrestling Club)

(Fall 0:42).

12&U 110: Felix Neill placed 4th. He won an 8-7 decision over Jose Hernandez- Martinez (Iron Grapplers Wrestling Club).

12&U Girls 130-138: Lakyn McCoy placed 2nd. She won by fall over Kennedy Shalz (Bobcats Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:17); won by fall over Andi Harbaugh (Emporia Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:54); and won by fall over Jordyn Edmiston (Wellsville Kid Matters) (Fall 0:27).
