Four Tornado wrestlers traveled to El Dorado on Saturday, December 2, for the 1st Annual Wrestling Tournament, with freshman Mason Hughes placing third.
Following are the individual results for Eureka participants: 106: Mason Hughes (2-3) placed 3rd. He won a 9-2 decision over Jett Sheffler (El Dorado) 1-4; won a 14-7 decision over Trevor Catlin (Garden Plain) 2-3; lost by fall to Cayle Mruk (Cheney) 4-1; lost by fall to Jameson Fetters (Council Grove) 1-4 (Fall 1:21); and lost by fall to Chase Courtois (Burlingame) 5-0.
113: Paiton Gravatt (0-4) placed 5th. He lost by fall to Nate Seimears (Council Grove) 4-0 (Fall 1:21); lost by fall to Cole Gerleman (Council Grove) 3-1 (Fall 0:58); lost by fall to Caeden Mruk (Cheney) 2-2; and lost a 4-19 tech fall to Gavin Iesh (El Dorado) 1-3. 157: Dalton Pool (3-2) placed 5th. He lost by fall to Landon Pinckny (El Dorado) 3-2 (Fall 4:16); lost by fall to Kaden Miller (Central Of Burden) 4-1; won by fall over Cole Beard (Flint Hills) 0-4 (Fall 0:42); received a bye; and won by fall over Bostyn Holman (Burlingame) 1-3.
175: Gauge Lopez (13) placed 6th. He won by fall over Benjamin Looper (Cheney) 1-3 (Fall 2:22); received a bye; lost by fall to Miles Easley (Central Of Burden) 3-1 (Fall 5:41); lost a 9-11 decision to Jose Arevalo (Burlingame) 4-0; and lost by forfeit to Sean Kegal (El Dorado) 3-2.
