The “Question of the Week” for last week was: “What is your favorite childhood snow memory?”
Following are the responses: Tony Sasse* - “ The first time I saw icicles I was amazed and ran around collecting as many as I could find!!”
Gretchen Reed* - “Sledding down the hill on 1st all day long. It was very convenient to live right there. We could run in and switch out for dry gloves every time we needed a cup of my mom’s hot cocoa.”
Diana Sutton* - “My dad worked hard and 7days a week, however when it snowed there were those rare occasions, he would attach an old car hood to his truck and off we would go out in the fields and down the country roads for hours of fun. Never seemed to get cold either.”
Francie Gee* - “Going with my siblings with cardboard boxes laid flat down Christian Hill on 1st Street.. Also snow ball fights..”
Kim Gorman* - “Mom helped us build a snow house, in the yard. It had window holes and a blanket for the roof. So fun!”
Diane Grundy* - “Building snowmen and making snow ice cream with my mom and grandma” Kim Weatherbee Rogers* - “The snow was so deep that we built a fort down in the snow. It was so deep that my grandpa had to dig us out of the house. We don’t get snow like that anymore” Merry Barrentine* - “I built a 10X10ish snow house no roof. Had a snow table, sofa, chair , played in it for days. About 11 years old in a foot of snow in Northern Utah.”
Peggy Knudsen Marlar* - “When I as a child, sledding down 1st street by the First Christian Church for hours. We lived in the next block, so when are feet were freezing we ran home and sat around the floor furnace. Then we were back at it. When I was a teenager, running on top of the snow-packed piles in the middle of Main Street to see who would fall off first.”
Dan Buck* - “Snow cream!”
Debbie Lawrence* - “My cousins Kent and Mindy had this large toboggan/ sled that their Dad hooked up to his Jeep truck and pulled us around in a pasture” Kent Grossarth* - “Debbie Lawrence, that was fun for sure,Malinda Grossarth Fuhr.”
