Mouer Named Business Woman Of The Month

The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, November 7 at the Greenwood County Hospital (GWCH) basement meeting room. There were 11 members and 1 guest present. The guest was Christine Mouer, who was the business woman of the month and provided the program for the evening.

Roll call was answered with, “Where are you going for Thanksgiving?”

Minutes of the last meeting were given and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved as read. There was no correspondence.

Announcements were made. Tammi Burtin discussed the fundraiser bake sale that was held. GWCH Foundation was selling chances for a Bench and Blanket Raffle that took place November 9. Kacey Countryman talked about sourdough making classes that her pastor’s wife is doing. The November class is full, but there will be another class in January 2024. Countryman also spoke on the 2023 Eureka Christmas Wellspring. Donations are currently being accepted. They are also looking for volunteers. Names for blessing boxes are currently being accepted. The mission for Eureka Wellspring is to pass on a blessing, because someone thought of you. This is meant to be a blessing, not a handout. 110 boxes were recently wrapped for the upcoming distribution.

Business woman for November, Mouer, was presented with a certificate. MouerisaRegisteredNurse, is working on her associate’s degree and working towards nurse practitioner schooling. She grew up in Hamilton. Mouer and husband David reside in Eureka and have three children. She is a Navy Veteran. Her former work experience includes: having worked at Newman Regional Health in Emporia as an ER nurse for 6 years and GWCH Home Health.

In 2018, she began working at GWCH as the infusion nurse and assisting in the Wound Care Clinic. Mouer does IV therapy, outpatient injections and foley maintenance, along with several other nursing duties. Mouer also currently serves as nurse for the Greenwood County Jail. She is on call 24 hours a day covering the inmates and their needed medical services.

During her presentation to the club, Mouer spoke of her duties as a registered nurse.

There were no November birthdays.

The door prize was won by Lois Stewart.

Hostesses for the evening were MaryAnn Thornton, Sherry Stapleford and Kristi Stapleford.

The club closed with Club Collect.
