Local Hospital Encouraging Others To Assist Eureka Christmas Wellspring In Sharing Christmas Blessings

With hopes of assisting the annual Eureka Christmas Wellspring, Greenwood County Hospital (GWCH) is challenging local businesses and individuals to join in the joy of giving by way of a friendly competition.

“We challenge you to join us for Eureka Christmas Wellspring, a wonderful cause, to help those who could use a blessing, without a pause,” read a poem shared by GWCH. The poem continued, “With hearts full of love, we offer a hand, collecting food items across the land. Turkeys, canned goods, pies, mashed potatoes and green beans, brining smiles and nourishment by any means. Caring and giving, we do with cheer, spreading the message, loud and clear. Together we can make a difference, you see, offering blessing boxes for so many. The boxes will be filled with goodies galore, bringing smiles and warmth to many for sure. A feast for their families, a meal so grand, providing joy throughout the land. So join us in this endeavor, to make this Christmas one to remember. Every donation, big or small. will bring happi ness and blessings to all.” GWCH raised $300 for the annual blessing by holding a “jeans month,” where employees could choose to pay $20 to be able to wear jeans throughout the month. All funds were then donated to the Eureka Christmas Wellspring. GWCH plans to have the same fundraiser in December and hopes others will join in and share the Christmas spirit.

The Eureka Christmas Wellspring is currently collecting food items for blessing boxes that will be distributed in mid-December. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at Burke Chiropractic, Emprise Bank, Eureka G&W Foods, Dollar General, Family Dollar/Dollar Tree, Eureka Country Club, Eureka Senior Center, State Farm Insurance and The Eureka Herald, all located in Eureka. Monetary donations and gift cards can be dropped off at The Eureka Herald.

Those wishing to nominate an individual or family for a blessing box may do so by submitting the nomination form on page 7 to Burke Chiropractic or calling a committee member.
