The Lady Tornado junior high wrestling team will conclude their season this week as they compete at home on Thursday, November 16 and at Coffeyville on Friday, November 17.
So far, the Tornadoes have competed in four tournaments where several have brought home honors.
“The kids have been working hard,” stated coach Thomas Lowe. “They are continuing to get better and hope to see a good showing for their home tournament,” he concluded.
Eureka will host their annual tournament this Thursday, starting at 4 p.m. They will conclude their season on Friday, in Coffeyville. Matches are slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.

Following are the results for Eureka participants: Burlington MS Cat Classic Girls 1: Emma Baumgartel placed 2nd. She won by fall over Cailee Glaze (Humboldt) (Fall 0:21); and lost a 2-4 decision in sudden victory to Kennedy Portlock (Santa Fe Trail).
Girls 7: Abbi Foth placed 4th. She won by fall over Kitana Pease (Burlington) (Fall 2:55); lost by fall to Josie Wade (Jayhawk- Linn) (Fall 2:46); and lost by fall to Olivia Roberts (Santa Fe Trail) (Fall 0:54).
Girls 8: McKenna Mc-Donald placed 3rd. She won by fall over Constance Moore (Burlington) (Fall 1:47); lost a 7-8 decision to Arya Lamb (Bluestem); and lost by fall to Trista Smith (Wellsville) (Fall 0:25).
Girls 9: Sofia Escareno placed 2nd. She won an 11-9 decision over AJ Haviland (Erie); lost by fall to Cadee Neel (Wellsville) (Fall 0:33); and won a 19-4 technical fall over Lucy Hatfield.
Girls 12: Khloe Grimmett placed 2nd. She lost a 15-12 decision to Carlie Brown (Jayhawk-Linn); won by fall over Hailey Shadden (Uniontown) (Fall 2:37); and won by fall over Autumn Carr (Iola) (Fall 1:27).
Girls 14: Arabella Shepherd placed 2nd. She lost by fall to Addilyn Wacker (Iola) (Fall 1:49); won a 6-0 decision over Sydney Hayes (Burlington); and won by fall over Addisyn Drake (Humboldt) (Fall 0:39) Girls 16: Chevelle Chastain placed 3rd. She won by fall over Rory Cross (Jayhawk-Linn) (Fall 1:44); lost a 9-11 decision to Brylee Napier (Humboldt); and lost by fall to Tatiana Tucker (Santa Fe Trail) (Fall 1:31).
TVL League Tournament 2023 GIRLS 81-89: Emma Baumgartel placed 1st. She won by fall over Ciani Meloy (Cherryvale MS) (Fall 0:36); won by fall over Brynlee Croney (Cherryvale MS) (Fall 0:24); and won by forfeit over Cailee Glaze (Humboldt MS).
