The Madison Pacesetters 4-H club met on October 4, at the Sauder Community Center in Madison.

The October meeting is the first official meeting of the new 4-H year. Roll Call was “What is your favorite Halloween candy?” It was answered by 24 members, four cloverbuds, two leaders and four guests.

This month, the Greenwood County 4-H Council Report was given to the club by Caylin Luthi. C. Luthi announced that at the last council meeting, they discussed plans for Cattlemen’s Day, donating towards county judging teams going to Nationals and introduced the new Greenwood County Ambassadors. One of those new Greenwood County Ambassadors was Madison Pacesetters’ very own Brooke Gaines. In B. Gaines’ report, she introduced herself and shared with the club that she hopes to bring more representation to the north side of the county.

In standing committee reports, the club discussed National 4-H Week Festivities. Members had to bring one canned food item to the October meeting. The items that the club collected were donated to the Madison Food Bank. The club also participated in 4-H Sunday and attended morning services at the Lamont Wesleyan Church. For their community service project, the Madison Pacesetters helped clean-up the Madison Island.
