Severy Resident Named Champion At World Cup Finals

From October 22-29, cowboys gathered at the Lazey E Arena, in Guthrie, Okla., where they competed in the 2023 World Cup Team Roping Finals. The contest was hosted by Jeff Smith and 3 Point Productions where over $2 million in cash and prizes was up for the taking.

From October 22-29, cowboys gathered at the Lazey E Arena, in Guthrie, Okla., where they competed in the 2023 World Cup Team Roping Finals. The contest was hosted by Jeff Smith and 3 Point Productions where over $2 million in cash and prizes was up for the taking.

Severy’s Justin Baumgar-tel, along with Pake Bell of Marysville, Okla., claimed top honors in the #8.5 Saddle Shoot Out, with a time of 21.74. The title earned both a new saddle as well as a payout of $13,020 to split. The second annual event featured various levels of preliminaries, shoot-outs and “big money” rounds. The roping requires no qualification for participants. Shootouts can be earned by making the short-go from the preliminary roping or at World Class Team Roping Championship produc t ions throughout the year.
