Last Thursday, October 26, Marilyn Brink was recognized as “Community Member of the Month” for her continued efforts in serving Greenwood County communities.
Brink Named Community Member Of The Month

Last Thursday, October 26, Marilyn Brink was recognized as “Community Member of the Month” for her continued efforts in serving Greenwood County communities.

Brink is currently serving as president of the Greenwood Preservation Society (GPS), a member of the Main Street Program and serves as board member of the Beaumont Community Association, where she also serves as the chairman for their annual golf tournament. She is also active with the Braunvieh Association.

In recent months, she has assisted the City of Eureka with various projects.

Brink will now be eligible for the “Community Member of the Year” honor which will be voted on by the community in December and January. Others appearing on the ballot include: Janice Brown, Janet Turner, Don Scott, Beth Inwood, Don Fanning and Kevin Hough.

How To Nominate

To nominate a “Community Member of the Month” simply send a letter with your name, the person’s name you are nominating and why you are nominating them for the honor. (Those wishing to remain anonymous can do so; but, the committee asks that your name and contact information be included in case committee members need additional information.) Letters should be sent to The Eureka Herald, PO Box 590, Eureka, KS 67045 or emailed to Robin Wunderlich at news@eurekaherald. com. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, LoMar Drive-in and the City of Eureka water office.

About Community Member OfThe Month

With hopes of bringing positive vibes to the community, Lo-Mar Drive-In and The Eureka Herald started a new monthly feature that showcases the works of those that give back to the nearby communities. It is hoped that the positive vibes will multiply and we will see many “pay it forward.”

The committee plans to continue the monthly and annual honor in 2023.

To nominate a “Community Member of the Month” simply send a letter with your name, the person’s name you are nominating and why you are nominating them for the honor.

Please include contact information for each of you. ( Editor’s note: If you wish to remain anonymous to the public please note that request on the nomination; however, committee members will need to know who made the nomination as contact may need to be made for additional information.

Letters should be sent to The Eureka Herald, PO Box 590, Eureka, KS 67045 or emailed to Robin Wunderlich at [email protected]. Forms are also available at The Eureka Herald, Lo-Mar Drive-in and the City of Eureka water office. The committee is asking that nominations be submitted prior to the last Friday of the month. Committee members will then review the nominations and select the recipient.

Those being named “Community Member of the Month” will then be up for the annual honor, which will be voted on by the community.
