The Eureka Garden Club met October 6 at 11:30 a.m. at the Eureka Country Club.
Lunch was served to nine active members and two associate members. Ann Coon and P.J. Pitko served as hostesses for the meeting.
Marsha Evenson gave the program about growing herbs inside and the making of herbal teas. At the end of her presentation, she passed around plates which had five herbs to be identified by the members.
The members who identified all five herbs were Sandy Dickerson and Carol Ann Flock. They received a potted Rosemary and Basil plant respectively as their prize.
Coon, chairman of the Mini Garden committee, reported that the garden still looked nice. The garden clean-up date was set for Saturday, October 28 at 1 p.m.
Under new business, Sheila Hughes moved that the club spend $50 for a flower pot or flowers in memory of Nancy Huntington for the Mini Garden. Loria Howard seconded the motion and it carried.
Door prizes were won by Sue McDonald and Howard. The prizes were an embroidered towel made by Coon and a coordinated bar of soap.
Next month’s meeting will be November 3, at TNT Catering with Howard and Rise Russin serving as hostesses.
The members closed by repeating “The Gardener’s Creed.”
