Eureka was represented at the 3-1A State Golf Tournament in Hesston, last Monday and Tuesday by Lady Tornado senior Annaliese Casper.
Casper concluded her high school golf career claiming 18th place overall at the 3-1A tournament.
Returning for her third state appearance, Casper shot a 94 (48/46) placing 23rd (tie) and earning the chance to compete in day two, where she shot a 92 (45/47) on Day 2 placing 17th (tie).
Overall, Casper claimed 18th place at 3-1A State.
The top 20 finishers claimed hardware. The scores ranged from 154 and 187.
As a team, Silver Lake claimed top honors with a score of 701. Margaret Ulrich of Wichita Collegiate claimed individual honors with a combined two-day score of 154.
A total of 55 golfers competed in Day 2 action. There were 87 golfers on Day 1.
This was Casper’s first state medal.
She is the daughter of Steve and Tonya Casper of rural Eureka.
