In just a little over three weeks, the annual Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Day event will be held. Organizers are once again looking to host events throughout the day, with the banquet concluding the festivities at Memorial Hall.

This year, Gary Mule Deer, a talented singer and musician (performing classic country, including the music of Johnny Cash in his show since the ‘60s), will provide the entertainment. He has performed on several major concert stages and has made over 360 television appearances. He is currently featured on the DVDs Jeff Foxworthy’s Comedy Classics and The World’s Greatest Standup Comedy Collection. He is a 2023 Grand Ole Opry inductee.

The annual banquet will include a social hour from 5-6:30 p.m. and a prime rib dinner at 6:30 p.m., with Mule Deer providing entertainment beginning at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the event are currently being sold. For the dinner and show, the cost is $45 before October 30 and $50 on October 31 or later. Those wishing to attend the show only may do so with a $25 ticket purchase (either in advance or at the door).

For more information or to purchase a ticket contact the Greenwood County Extension Office at 620-583-7455 or Michele Seeley at 918-331-6034.

A complete schedule of event for the annual Cattlemen’s Day event will be included in next week’s edition.
