Former West Elk wrestling coach Kevin Weber was presented with the inaugural Doug Vander Linden “Character in Coaching” award, during the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association banquet earlier this month.

This award, created to recognize coaches who extend their influence beyond the sport and invest in the lives of their athletes, is a testament to Weber’s outstanding dedication to his students and athletes. It’s a fitting tribute to his remarkable contributions to West Elk High School.

Weber coached wrestling for 32 years, all at West Elk. He retired from the position after last year’s season.
