Bryan Dean "Pete" Key, Jr., age 44, of Springfield, Mo.,
passed away on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, in Miller, Mo.
He was born in Eureka on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 1980, to Bryan Dean Key, Sr. and Betty (Sherman) Key.
Pete attended Hamilton schools and graduated with the class of 1998. His professional career was centered in the oil field industry. He had a passion for fishing and enjoyed spending time outdoors. Notably, he had a talent for catching fish quickly, even in areas where others struggled. Known for his cheerful demeanor, he brought joy to his cousin's children during visits. He is missed by his family and friends. Truly, he was one guy that holds a place in each of our hearts.
He is survived by several 1st cousins on his mom’s side of the family: Clint (Keila) Sherman of Hamilton; Kory (Cindy) Brown of Eureka; Doug (Jenny) Rayburn and Jeramiah Linden of Hamilton; Jay (Jamie) Nord- meyer of Olpe; and Scott (Betsy) Penfield of Huntsville, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings JoAnna and Jennifer Key, and grandparents Melvin “Pat” and Lola (Crabtree) Sherman of Hamilton.
Graveside services will be held at Janesville Cemetery in Hamilton on April 5, at 6:30 p.m.
