Spring Sports To Begin Action Next Monday, March 31

The 2024-25 spring sports season will officially be underway next Monday, March 31 as Tornado baseball, softball and golf begin competition.

Eureka’s golf team will travel to Caney for their opening tournament on March 31. Tee-off is slated for 1 p.m. On April 3, Eureka’s junior varsity (JV) team is slated to travel to Sedan, at 3 p.m., while the varsity team is scheduled to compete in Emporia for Olpe’s tournament, at 1 p.m.

The Tornado baseball and softball teams will host their season openers against the Eagles of Olpe on March 31. The games are slated to begin at 4:30 p.m. The baseball games will be held at Lion’s Diamond, while the softball games will be held at Eureka City Diamond. The baseball and softball teams will host West Elk on Thursday, April 3, before traveling to Caney on April 8. Both matchups are slated for 4:30 p.m. Eureka’s High School track team will begin their season on Friday, April 4, as they travel to Emporia Relays. The Tornadoes will host their next two track and field meets, beginning with Eureka Trials on Thursday, April 10 and the Tornado Relays on Tuesday, Apri l 15. All three track and field meets are slated to begin at 3 p.m.

The Junior High Tornado track and field team will host their opening track and field meet on Tuesday, April 8, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Their second meet is slated for Tuesday, April 15, in Fredonia, at 3 p.m.

West Elk Patriots

The West Elk baseball and softball teams will host their season openers on Monday, March 31, beginning at 4 p.m., against Sedan. The Patriots will then travel to Eureka on April 3.

West Elk’s track and field team will travel to the Oxford Invitational on Friday, April 4, at 3:30 p.m. The next two meets will be at Eureka, with the Eureka Trials on Thursday, April 10 and the Tornado Relays on Tuesday, April 15. Both meets begin at 3 p.m.

The junior high Patriots track and field meet will travel to their first meet on Thursday, April 10, Central, beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Madison Bulldogs

The Bulldog golf team is slated to compete at the Emporia Municipal course on Thursday, April 3, at 1 p.m., before competing at the Rock Creek Country Club on Tuesday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m.

Madison’s junior high track team will begin their season on April 8, in Eureka, before hosting the Madison Invitational on Thursday, April 10.

The Bulldog’s high school track and field team will compete at Eureka on Thursday, April 10, at 3 p.m. Madison will return to Eureka on Tuesday, April 15, also at 3 p.m.
