Named Business Woman Of The Month

Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, October 3, at the Greenwood County Hospital basement meeting room. There were nine members and one guest present. The guest was Lisa Schweda, owner of S & L Hardware in Eureka. Roll call was answered by “Your favorite piece of Pampered Chef.”

Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, October 3, at the Greenwood County Hospital basement meeting room. There were nine members and one guest present. The guest was Lisa Schweda, owner of S & L Hardware in Eureka. Roll call was answered by “Your favorite piece of Pampered Chef.”

Minutes of the September meeting were given and approved as read. The treasurer’s report was given and approved as read.

Correspondence was read. Tammi Burtin read thank you cards from Diana Cole and Lois Stewart.

Announcements were made. Burtin discussed the upcoming scholarship fundraiser bake sale at the Craft Show next month, on November 11, at Eureka Downs. A sign-up sheet was passed around for home baked goods.

Businesswoman of the month, Schweda, was presented with a certificate. She currently owns and operates S & L Hardware. She and her husband Shane purchased Stanley’s Hardware and they cleaned out the building and re-did the business. They have one son. L. Schweda grew up in the Fall River area. She attended Kansas State University and Wichita State University. She has a degree in education and school counseling. She and her family moved to Missouri and then came back to Fredonia.

Vicki Lindsey presented the program for the evening. Lindsey is a consultant for Pampered Chef. She spoke about the products and had several items present for the club to look at. She also shared books and Pampered Chef products were ordered that evening.

The club sang “Happy Birthday” to Audra Hemingway, who has an October birthday.

The door prize was won by Ava Jones.

Hostesses for the evening were Mary Ann Thornton and Lindsey.

The club closed with the Club Collect.
