Last week, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) shared plans to begin a resurfacing project on U.S. 54 in Greenwood County. The 16-mile project starts at the Butler-Greenwood County line and continues east to the west K-99 junction. No work will take place within the city limits of Eureka.

Project activity includes placement of a 1½-inch asphalt overlay, rumble strips and edge wedge. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone. Expect delays of 15 minutes or less during daylight hours on weekdays through early December.

KDOT awarded the construction contract of $3.5 million to APAC-Kansas Inc., Shears Division, of Hutchinson. Check KDOT’s updated traveler information website, www.Kandrive.gov, for more highway condition and construction details.
