Community members are coming together to help Felicia Riggs and Adam Cervantes as they welcomed their second child early.
On Sunday, February 2, Felicia went into pre-term labor at 36 weeks. Anastasia was born at 1:40 p.m., weighing 11 pounds, 1 ounce and measuring 22.75 inches in length at birth.
With Anastasia being a big baby, her shoulder was lodged during delivery and she ultimately suffered a small fracture on her left clavicle. She has also suffered with keeping her oxygen levels above 90, due to her lungs being under developed. Since February 2, she has been in the NICU for observation. It is believed that Anastasia will remain in the NICU for the next few weeks. Anastasia’s mother Felicia also suffered from preeclampsia, the first 3 days after delivery.
A Pizza Hut fundraiser is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 19, as Pizza Hut will be holding a fundraiser and a silent auction to assist the family with medical and travel expenses. The silent auction will be held from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. A portion of the day’s sales will be donated to the family. Customers should mention the fundraiser when ordering. Pizza Hut will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., for delivery, dine-in or carry out orders.
Donations can also be made by cash or check, made payable to Felicia Riggs, in care of Pizza Hut, 1605 E River St, Eureka, KS 67045.
