The Tornadoes finished the week hosting the Bluestem Lions on Friday, Feb. 14. The Tornadoes beat the Lions at the Yates Center Tournament earlier this season 47-25 but that was with a full complement of players. In the first quarter, the game looked like it would be a tough matchup for Eureka, ending the first quarter with a one-point lead. However, the Tornadoes poured in on it the second, outscoring the visiting Lions by 15 points to take a commanding lead into halftime. They never relinquished the lead, adding 23 second half points to win by a comfortable 26 points, 6135.

Ptacek led the Tornadoes with 21 points, with Coon right behind him with 17. Valentine added 15, Easton Mead and Kotah Davis with 3 each and Peyton Hare dropped 2 for the Tornadoes. Hare had 13 rebounds and Coon added 10 rebounds for his first double/ double of the season.

The Eureka High School boys played the Neodesha Bluestreaks on Friday, Feb. 7. The Tornadoes started slow and the Bluestreaks started hot, running the smaller Tornadoes out of the gym in the first half. However, the Tornadoes got it together after halftime, outscoring the visiting Neodesha squad by 4 points in the second half. While that was obviously not enough to make up for the miserable first half, it was a good sign for a Tornadoes squad that was finally getting healthy after a rough two week stretch of illness.

Ptacek led the Tornadoes with 16 points, with Coon right behind him with 12. Valentine added 6, Hare 4, Nate Clark and Davis with 3 each, and Brody Mitchell added 1.
