The Madison Bulldog basketball teams were victorious over Uniontown and Southern Coffee County last week.
Madison first battled Uniontown on Tuesday, Feb. 11, where both teams claimed the win. The Lady Bulldogs won 43-14. Scoring for Madison were Jalynn Weakley 23, Caylin Luthi 7, Jenna Thomsen 6, Kamdynn White 3 and Sadie Albert and Bayleigh Benjamin each with 2.
The Bulldog boys claimed an early 10-8 lead over Uniontown. Both teams were tied at 20 at half, but Madison outscored Uniontown 12-7 in the third to lead 3227 going into the final stanza. The Bulldogs went on to win 34-31. Scoring for Madison were Octavian Dean 21, Colton Isch 10 and Cory Yowell 3.
Against SCC on Friday, Feb. 14, the Bulldogs dominated over the Titans, only allowing 17 points total in both contests.
In the girls game, Madison led 20-5 after the first and the Lady Bulldog defense held SCC scoreless throughout the remainder of the contest. Madison went on to win the game 66-5. Scoring for the Lady Bulldogs were Weakley 24, Luthi 14, White and Thomsen each with 6, Benjamin 5 and Sophia Rayburn 2.
Madison’s boys started similar to the girls, leading 20-0 after the first. The Bulldogs continued to score double digits in each of the four quarters and claimed a 78-12 victory over SCC. Scoring for Madison were Yowell 30, Isch 20, Lane Smith 8, Dean 7, Colton Cordell 6 and Will Grimmett and Mason Martin each with 2.
Madison is slated to host Lyndon this Friday, Feb,. 21, at 5 p.m.
