Two Marshall Elementary students qualified for the South Central Regional Knights Of Columbus Free Throw Contest after making the most free throws, in their division, at the District Contest in Andover on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Molly Dehlinger, age 12, made 17 of 20 free throws to advance. She is a sixth grader at Marshall Elementary School and is the daughter of Taylor and Madeline Dehlinger of Eureka. Sawyer Ptacek, age 9, made 6 of 20 to qualify for the Regional contest. She is a third grader at Marshall Elementary School and is the daughter of Brendan and Tabitha Ptacek of Eureka.
The top free throw shooter in each age division qualified for the Kansas South Central Regional Free Throw contest at Garden Plain High School on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m.
Others qualifying for the district contest were Kaylon Thatcher (10), Braxtyn Evenson (11), Bella Damron (13) Syndey Lindamood (14), Kye Beatty (9), Charlie Lindamood (10), Jessn Ogden (11), Nolan Morris (12), Cord Adkins (13) and Henry Perrier (14).
