Howard City Council

The Howard City Council meets bi-monthly on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:30 p.m. The following report was generated from the approved minutes of the Jan. 20 meeting minutes, which were approved at a recent meeting.

Mayor Richard Clark called the Jan. 20 meeting to order with Council members Martin Hunter, Shilo Crupper, Derek Cookson, and Gary Harrod present, also present was City Clerk Joanna Hunter. Council member Jerrad Pope absent.

The minutes of the Jan. 6 meeting minutes were approved as presented.

Cookson made a motion, which was seconded by Crupper, to approve payment of city bills, totaling $14,281.03 .

The council approved for the City Library to park a dumpster on the street for their expansion cleanup, and to allow the demolition debris to be dumped without charge in the City C&D Landfill.

Other discussion involved Lake fisheries report; Employee certifications and licenses; New tires needed for utility vehicle; Meter replacement for customer at SE side of town; PWWSD23 updates; Cox awning gutters to be a priority, Cox generator to be wired in, the interior updates are almost complete, outdoor light wiring and timer to be addressed, and the Mayor asked to note special appreciation to Clay Hunter for installing the awning lights during the bitter cold.

The meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.

The council also met on Monday, Feb. 3. Their next scheduled meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. (The meeting was moved from the routine Monday, due to the observance of President’s Day.
