
Linda Lou McCormack of Climax, died on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, at the age of 79. She was born on Oct. 26, 1945 in Neodesha, to Thomas Franklin and Betty Jean (Lehrack) Brown. She grew up in rural Fall River, where she attended local schools and graduated from Fall River High School. On July 14, 1963, she married Harold Dean McCormack in Fall River, and they settled in Climax. They had three children together.
While her children were young, Linda was a homemaker. Later, in the late 1980s, she held various jobs before beginning her career at Boeing in Wichita, where she worked until her retirement in the mid-2000s. In her retirement, Linda enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events and taking trips to gamble with friends. Her husband, Harold, passed away on July 2, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Dana and husband, Brad Metzger of New Strawn; Greg and wife, Lori Mc-Cormack of Silver Lake; and Kelly and wife, Stephanie McCormack of El Dorado; eight grandchildren: Jason, Tyler, Allyx, Kyle, Allyson, Lauren, Cannon, and Kash; six great-grandchildren; two siblings: Charmaine Johnson, Larry and wife, Carol Brown; and sister- in-law, Evelyn Hendrickson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one brother, Robert Geib.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Pastor Kevin Lawrence officiating. Cremation has been effected. A private family scattering will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation.
