The Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) was represented at Mulvane and Iola over the weekend, with several claiming hardware at Iola on Sunday.
At Mulvane, EWC’s Brynlee Ashlock competed in the 10U Girls 65 division at the girls Battle of the Belt contest on Friday, Feb. 7.
Members of the EWC then competed at the Iola Drop the Hammer Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Following are the individual match wins for EWC participants: 6u Boys 51-52: Remington Genoble placed 3rd. He won a 10-3 decision over Kellan Mann (Spring Hill Wrestling Club).
6u Boys 56-60: Graham Bechtel placed 1st. He won by fall over Orin Greve (Chanute Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:44); won by fall over Gatlin Grosdidier (Kansas Thunderstruck Wrestling) (Fall 2:40); and won by fall over Tristen O’Daniel (Neodesha Wrestling Club) (Fall 2:34).
10u Boys 51-58: Tanner Wade placed 3rd.
10u Boys 84-85: Carter
Ring placed 4th.
8u Girls 58-63: Oaklyn Smith placed 2nd. She won by fall over Gloria Gastineau (Chanute Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:36); and won by forfeit over Hazel Buck (Burlington Wrestling Club).
8u Girls 112-122: Miya McCullough placed 2nd.
8u Boys 53-54: Jad Day placed 1st. He won by fall over Trevor Clark (Kansas Thunderstruck Wrestling) (Fall 2:00); won an 11-2 major decision over Estin Martin (Circle Wrestling club); and won by fall over Wyatt Coda (Independence Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:44).
8u Boys 54-56: Kaydenn Winn placed 4th.
10u Girls 87-89: Elena McCoy placed 1st. She won by fall over Abigail Buchanan (Humboldt Cubs Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:23); and won by fall over Brynleigh Shultz (Humboldt Cubs Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:50).
12u Boys 113-122: Felix Neill placed 1st. He won by fall over Evan O’Connell (Neodesha Wrestling Club) (Fall 2:40); won a 15-0 tech fall over Nickolas Trester (Humboldt Cubs Wrestling Club); and won by fall over Xabier Granere (Bourbon County Cowboys Wrestli) (Fall 2:54).
12u Girls 106-114: Adleigh Ray placed 2nd. She won by fall over Zoie Greenlee (Kansas Thunderstruck Wrestling) (Fall 0:15); won by fall over Lillian Waltermire (Red Devil Wrestling Club) (Fall 2:00); and won by fall over Jemma Cole (Burlington Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:44).
