The 2023 4-H State Archery Competition was held at T.H.E. Archery on Saturday, September 30. Ten Greenwood County kids were among 226 youth archers competing from across the state. The Greenwood County State competitors were Seniors (age 14-18): Wylee Boulanger, Makenna Engle, Jayden Smith and Savannah Bruno-Pelky and in the Juniors (age 9-13): Chason Gulick, Fisher Hobbs, Camden Wunderlich, William Burkhart, Adleigh Ray and Jackson Hobbs. Four participants Boulanger, Gulick, Wunderlich and F. Hobbs received a total of 21 awards.

Wylee Boulanger Boulanger, a senior at Eureka Junior/Senior High School (EJSHS), is the son of Brad and Annissa Boulanger. He is the grandson of Shirley Boulanger of Eureka and Judy Langhofer of Cassoday and the late Ed Boulanger and the late Ron Langhofer.
Gulick, an eighth grader at Gulick Academy, is the son of Chad and Kelli Gulick of Piedmont. He is the grandson of Teri Hamilton of Eureka, Chop and Marianna Gulick of Eureka and the late John Hamilton.
F. Hobbs, an eighth grader at EJSHS, is the son of Gabe and Leah Hobbs of Eureka. He is the grandson of George and Marsha Ramsey of Eureka and Mark and Lynn Hobbs of Yates Center.
Wunderlich, also an eighth grader at EJSHS, is the son of Wes and Robin Wunderlich of Eureka. He is the grandson of Allen and Linda Wunderlich of Piedmont and the late Richard and Rachel Clasen.
