Melvin Doane will celebrate his 100th birthday on Saturday, Feb. 8. Formerly of Severy, Doane currently resides at the Kansas Veterans Home in Winfield.
His family and friends are requesting a card shower in honor of the occasion. The family also suggests pictures be added before mailing cards to Melvin Doane, 1220 WWII Memorial Drive, Winfield, KS 67156.
The family shared that Doane loves to get cards and remains active playing bingo, going on outings, bird watching and growing tomatoes and flowers. He also has a large collection of rocks and writing pens.
