Winter Royalty To Be Crowned Friday, Jan. 31

This next week, students at Eureka Junior/Senior High School (EJSHS) will participate in winter royalty festivities. This year the theme for the annual event is “Winter Royalty: A Holiday Extravaganz a . ” Each day the students dress up according to a specific holiday. The days are as follows: Monday: No School; Tuesday: “Christmas in January” wear Christmas clothes; Wednesday: “Valentine’s Day” guys wear red, girls wear pink; Thursday: “Father’s and Mother’s Day” BBQ dads vs soccer moms; Friday: “4th of July” wear red, white and blue. Students at Marshall Elementary School are also encouraged to participate in the dress-up days listed above.

Students that are in grades nine through twelve recently selected the following students for Winter Royalty King and Queen candidates. The following candidates were selected: for Queen, Chloe Boyer, Marie Frederick, Cheyenne Gardner, Charlotte Pfister and Ashlyn Smith; and for King, Ethan Bauer, Kadin De-Shane, Christian Dunham, Jace Hardenbrook and Cody Lewis.

This year’s winter royalty crown bearers are Dawsyn Evenson and Graham Bechtel, both 1st graders at Marshall Elementary School, in Eureka.

The Winter Royalty King and Queen will be named in a special ceremony during halftime of the boys basketball game, next Friday, Jan. 31. Eureka basketball teams will be facing the Yellowjackets of Fredonia.

Students in grades nine through twelve are also invited to attend the winter royalty semi-formal dance, which will be held from 9:30 – 11:30 p.m., in the Tornado Activity Center (TAC).
