Claimed Hardware At Tornado Invitational At Eureka Country Club

The Eureka Tornado cross country team hosted their annual invitational last Wednesday, at the Eureka Country Club.

The Eureka Tornado cross country team hosted their annual invitational last Wednesday, at the Eureka Country Club.

Six Tornadoes claimed hardware during the junior high and high school events.

In the varsity boys 5K, Jonah Werner placed seventh, with a time of 20.04.37.

Eureka’s Rose Buck claimed first place in the varsity girls 5K with a time of 20:29.43. Lady Tornado Britta Mongeau placed fourth with a time of 23:34.74.

In junior high action, McKenna McDonald placed third with a time of 7:29.58, in the seventh grade girls 2-mile race.

Seventh grade boys Cohen Marks, Braden Buck and Tavin Austin finished the boys 2-mile race in 16th, 17th and 18th. Marks finished with a time of 8:01.89. Buck finished with a time of 8:02.97 and Austin finished with a time of 8:16.93.

In the eighth grade girls two-mile race, Rose Owens placed sixth with a time of 16:23.15. Reata Bogle was 12th with a time of 21:25.28.

Eureka’s Will Morris placed first, with a time of 12:31:31, in the eighth grade boys 2-mile race.

Fifteen medals were awarded in the varsity events and 10 medals were awarded in junior high races.

Both junior high and high school cross country teams will travel to Fredonia this Thursday, for the Tri-Valley League race. Races are slated to begin at 4 p.m.
