As one door closes, another door opens. This saying is used by many in various scenarios and is evident for local business owners as they continue to transition.
Last week, one Eureka business found a new owner while three other businesses continue to forge ahead on a new chapter.
Following more than a decade of ownership under Dick Roberts, the Eureka Pharmacy has a new owner. On Wednesday, Jan. 1, Isaac and Heidi Boone took ownership of the location.

Marsha Evenson, owner of Eureka Garden and Floral; Ryan and Amanda Escareno, owners of Coffee Stop; Isaac “Zeek” Whitehead, owner of Whitehead Service and Repair; and Jay and Sara Shivers, owners of Salt Creek Farms; are all in transition to open at new locations. Although Eureka Garden and Floral closed last month, Evenson is hopeful to open a floral shop the first part of February to continue to serve the floral needs of the Eureka community. Additional plans, as well as the new name, will be shared in a future edition. The Coffee Stop shared last week that they will be opening a storefront at 1111 E. River, in Eureka. An opening date will be announced at a later date. Whitehead Repair will have a shop open house at 1964 US Highway 54, in Eureka on Sunday, Jan. 12, from 2-4 p.m. See related article. Salt Creek Farms purchased the building that formerly housed Eureka Garden and Floral at 609 E. River Street and has plans of relocating their storefront from Main Street, in Eureka.
