The Eureka Wresting Club (EWC) was represented at two tournaments recently, with club members first competing at the Valley Center Round Robin on Dec. 28, 2024 and at the Circle Classic on Sunday, Jan. 5.
The following are the individual match victories for EWC participants:
Valley Center Round Robin Open/Novice 6U Boys 58B: Harold ‘Cooper’ Hamilton placed 5th. He won by forfeit over Wyatt Goodnight (Circle Wrestling Club).
14U Boys 120A: Tate Scott placed 2nd. He won by fall over Brigham King (South Central Punisher) (Fall 1:05); won by fall over Jaxson Sweat (Abilene) (Fall 0:41); won by fall over Wyatt Brand (Brawlers) (Fall 0:36); and won by fall over Kale Ballard (Team Haysville) (Fall 0:25).
14U Boys 160: Jadden Winn placed 4th. He won by forfeit over Caine Bruso (Mulvane Junior).
8U Boys 55B: Jad Day placed 3rd. He won a 6-4 decision over Maverick Dishman (Pratt); and won a 4-3 decision over Cohutta Deitchler (Carroll).
8U Boys 64B: Tucker Williams placed 5th. He won an 11-6 decision over Connor Crockett (WTC).
10U Girls 70: Brynlee Ashlock placed 2nd. She won by fall over Rayne Moore (Power House) (Fall 0:24); won by fall over Aubree Schulke (Mulvane Junior) (Fall 0:19); and won by fall over Lilah Lira (Wellington Youth) (Fall 0:20).
10U Girls 85-90: Elena McCoy placed 6th. She won by fall over Cara Hatcher (Carroll) (Fall 1:31); and won an 8-2 decision over Elsie Brown (Kiowa County).
10U Boys 73D: Carter Winn placed 3rd. He won by fall over Aiden Orvis (Valley Center) (Fall 1:45); and won a 10-4 decision over Greyson Riggs (Iron Grapplers).
10U Boys 82A: Keon Jones placed 4th. He won an 18-5 major decision over Alex Carillo (Wichita Blue Knights).
12U Girls 105-110: Adleigh Ray placed 2nd. She won by fall over Kaylynn Howard (South Central Punisher) (Fall 0:10); won by fall over Annabelle Davenport (Salina) (Fall 0:15); and won by fall over Matilda Scott (Power House) (Fall 3:45).
Circle Classic 10U Novice 73: Carter Winn placed 2nd. He won a 9-6 tie breaker decision over Tanner Russell (El Dorado); won a 13-1 major decision over Marsten Kennemer (Circle); and won by forfeit over his Jr Panther opponent.
10U Boys 90: Carter Ring placed 6th.
14U Boys 120: Christian Sanchez placed 2nd. He won by fall over Za`Qris Brown- Richardson (Circle) (Fall 0:32) and won by forfeit.
14U Boys 120: Tate Scott placed 3rd. He won by fall over Kyler Houlden (CYWC) (Fall 1:58); won a 17-1 tech fall over Za`Qris Brown- Richardson (Circle); and won by fall over Kyler Houlden (CYWC) (Fall 2:09).
14U Boys 160: Jadden Winn placed 2nd. He won by fall over Owen Rabenhorst (Grizzlies) (Fall 0:56).
8U Boys 55: Jad Day won a 13-3 major decision over Cooper McGovern (Circle); and won a 14-9 decision over Maddox Ring (Eureka).
10U Girls 70: Brynlee Ashlock placed 2nd. She won a 4-2 decision over Emerson Carey (Augusta); won by fall over Indi Meyer (Halstead) (Fall 1:39); and won by fall over Trinity Hoskins (Grizzlies) (Fall 0:52).
10U Girls 85-90: Elena McCoy placed 2nd. She won by forfeit over Brynlee Redington (Andover).
12U Girls 110: Adleigh Ray placed 2nd. She won by fall over Lakin Love (Elk Country) (Fall 2:26).
Also representing EWC were Maddox Ring, 8U Boys 55 and Tucker Williams, 8U Boys 64.
