The regular meeting of the Eureka Garden Club met on Friday, Jan. 3, at TNT Catering for lunch at 11:30 a.m. After lunch, Marsha Evenson visited with the club about her plans for opening her new business. President Vicki Lindsey then called the meeting to order. The hostesses for the meeting were Sue McDonald and Lindsey. Eight members and one guest attended the meeting. Lindsey reported that the garden clean-up after the December meeting went well. Members quickly readied the garden for the winter months. Marilyn Seymour won the door prize of Calla Lily bulbs and an air plant in boots. Kathy Jackson won a decorated angel.
The program was given by Sheila Hughes. She showed the club members how to repurpose old vases, jars, and cans with spackling and paint.
Next month’s meeting will be held on Feb. 7, at TNT Catering, at 11:30 a.m. The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardener’s Creed.”
