The Elk County Wrestling (ECW) Cobras competed in two tournaments last week with several earning honors.
Cobras first traveled to Park City for the annual Warrior Clash on Saturday, Dec. 21, before making the short trip to Eureka for a kids mixer.
Following are the individual match wins for ECW participants: Warrior Clash 8U Novice 49: Flint Pope placed 3rd. He won by fall over Baylor McHone (Bluestem) (Fall 1:31); won an 18-2 tech fall over Kaden Nichols (Clearwater Youth); won by fall over Javid Lara (U Town Hammers) (Fall 1:44); and won a 10-4 decision over Corde Daniels (RSA Red Storm Wrestling) (Dec 104). 8U Novice 61: Konlee Bidwell won an 11-9 decision over Raylen Mosley (RSA Red Storm Wrestling).
10U Novice 82: Maverick Ford placed 1st. He won a 20-0 tech fall over Jude Bradfield (Mulvane Jr. Wrestling Club); won by fall over Aiden Vaden (WTC) (Fall 0:34); won by forfeit over Maddox Dawson (WTC); won by fall over Charlie Washington (Derby) (Fall 0:26); and won by injury default over Braden Langrehr (Wichita Wrestling Club).
10U Open 82: Kash Bidwell placed 6th. He won an 18-0 tech fall over Hogan Franklin (WTC); won by fall over Oliver Kraus (WTC) (Fall 3:00); and won a 10-5 decision over Hudson Harp (Brawlers) (Dec 10-5).
12U Open 105: Kestin Kisling won by fall over Devin Hall (Winfield) (Fall 2:21).
12U Open 140: Raylan Wunderlich won by fall over Kameron Root (Labette County Wrestling) (Fall 0:29).
12U Open 165: Kyler Wunderlich placed 5th. He won by fall over Shawn Long Jr. (Kansas Young Guns Wrestling Cl) (Fall 0:33); won a 3-0 decision over Jeremiah Fulfer (Brawlers); and won a 3-0 decision over Brody Bloomer (Wichita Wrestling Club).
12U Girls 110: Lakin Love won a 1-0 decision over Kayslie Meyers (Garden City Wrestling Club).
12U Girls 115-120: Pyper Ford won by forfeit over Keilee Houston (Mulvane jr wrestling).
14U Girls 101: Emma Baumgartel won by fall over Kylie Logan (Alpha Academy Wrestling) (Fall 2:14).
Also participating for ECW were Payton Vancil, 12U Girls 80; and Autumn Love, 12U Girls 85.
Eureka Kids Mixer 6U Boys 35-38: Jayce Baumgartel placed 2nd. He won an 18-14 decision over Radley Whiteside (Bluestem); and won by fall over Bryar Brown (Bluestem) (Fall 0:47).
6U Boys 39-42: Hudson Houchin placed 3rd.
6U Boys 44-45: Kestyn McTaggart placed 3rd. He won by forfeit over Cooper Carter (Circle).
6U Boys 48-52: Alden Ford placed 4th.
6U Boys 53-56: Beau Houchin placed 3rd.
6U Boys 56-66: Kyptyn McTaggart placed 1st. He won an 18-6 major decision over Brett Buchman (El Dorado); and won by fall over Wyatt Goodnight (Circle) (Fall 0:49).
6U Girls 42-47: Skylee Edwards placed 1st. She won a 7-6 decision over Briella Hamic (Central Heights) (Dec 7-6); and won by fall over Lux Willhite (Bluestem) (Fall 0:41).
8U Boys 60-63: Konlee Bidwell placed 4th.
8U Boys 64-69: Andrew Canalas placed 2nd. He won by fall over Ethan Chastain (Eureka) (Fall 0:59); and won a 13-3 major decision over Braxton Brundage (Circle).
8U Girls 56-61: Pacey McGee placed 1st. She won a 6-5 decision over Miah Hughes (Eureka)l and won by fall over Ava Lowry (Circle) (Fall 1:44).
10U Boys 81-89: Maverick Ford placed 1st. He won by fall over Karter Hicks (Circle) (Fall 1:21); won a 7-1 decision over Barrett Coons (Circle); and won by fall over Keon Jones (Eureka) (Fall 2:46) 10U Boys 84-86: Riggin McGee placed 3rd. He won an 11-5 decision over Carter Ring (Eureka).
12U Boys 76-80: Jesse Highbarger placed 3rd.
12U Boys 89-104: Kestin Kisling placed 3rd. He won by fall over Owen Bright (El Dorado) (Fall 1:24).
12U Girls 81-81: Autumn Love placed 1st. She won a 6-0 decision over Payton Vancil (West Elk); and won by fall over Payton Vancil (West Elk) (Fall 1:50).
