Area churches have planned events to observe the celebration of the birth of Christ this holiday season. The public is invited to attend the church or churches of their choice and hear the Christmas story as it is related through scripture. All are welcome to attend services. Those attending do not have to be a member of any of the churches.
Jefferson Street Baptist Church (300 South Jefferson Street, Eureka)
The Jefferson Street Baptist Church invites all to join their congregation in celebrating the Christmas season.
The church will host their Christmas Eve service on Tuesday, Dec. 24. The evening, featuring a candlelight service and Lord’s Supper, will begin at 6 p.m.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church (514 N. Elm, Eureka;Township Rd 91, Hamilton and 1002 South 4th Street, Madison) Sacred Heart Catholic Church will celebrate Advent with the following special services: Sunday, Dec. 22 at 3 p.m., Sacred Heart, Eureka, Advent Penance Service; Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 4 p.m., St. John, Hamilton, Christmas Eve Mass; Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 8 p.m., Sacred Heart, Eureka, Christmas Eve Mass; Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 8:30 a.m., St. Teresa, Madison, Christmas Morning Mass and Wednesday, Dec. 25 at 11 a.m., Sacred Heart, Eureka, Christmas Morning Mass.
Neal Evangelical Free Church (1595 AA Road, Neal)
The Neal Evangelical Free Church welcomes everyone to share in our joy as we celebrate the birth of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sunday, Dec. 22: 10 a.m. Regular Advent Morning Worship; 5 p.m. Christmas Caroling, participants will meet at the Church to go Christmas caroling and deliver fruit baskets; a Soup Supper will be held at the Church Immediately following caroling. Tuesday, Dec. 24: 7 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion.
First United Methodist Church (521 N. Main Street, Eureka)
All are welcome to the First United Methodist Church of Eureka as they celebrate the Christ Child with two special church services. Dec. 19 welcomes community members to the bi-monthly ‘Community Sing’ event. Community Sing is held on the first and third Thursdays each month. Dec. 19 will focus on Christmas Carols. On Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. a beautiful Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held with special music from the choir.
Reece Christian Church (1303 E. 40 Road, Eureka)
Reece Christian Church invites you to join them for Christmas Service, Sunday, Dec. 22, at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow.
