Members of the Eureka Wrestling Club (EWC) competed in two tournaments over the weekend, with several claiming hardware.
On Saturday, Dec. 7. EWC traveled to Clearwater where Daniel Camp claimed 2nd, Graham Bechtel placed 3rd and Carson Eismann and Zaiden Meza each placed 4th.
On Sunday, Dec. 8, EWC members traveled to the McPherson Girls Tournament where Lakyn McCoy claimed 1st, Brynlee Ashlock and Adleigh Ray placed 3rd and Oaklyn Smith and Elena Mc-Coy placed 4th.
Following are the individual match wins for EWC participants:
Clearwater Showdown on the Ninnescah:
6U Boys 52B: Zaiden Meza placed 4th. He won a 17-16 decision over Xander Sprague (Bluestem).
6U Boys 64: Graham Bechtel placed 3rd. He won an 18-1 tech fall over Jett Remy (Andover); won by fall over Brek Pfenninger (Andover) (Fall 0:58); and won by forfeit over Declan Crawford (Mulvane Jr.).
10U Novice 79A: Daniel Camp placed 2nd. He won a 13-1 major decision over Benjamin Gary (South Central Punishers).
8U Novice 88-95: Carson Eismann placed 4th.
Also representing EWC was Jad Day, 8U Boys 55.
Mac-Town Throwdown
8U 65: Oaklyn Smith placed 4th. She won by fall over Annabelle Scott (Power House) (Fall 1:52); and won by fall over Ava Lowry (Circle Wrestling Club) (Fall 0:30).
10U 60-65A: Brynlee Ashlock placed 3rd. She won a 9-8 decision over Mayah Passmore (Chase County); and won by fall over River Stephens (Abilene Kids) (Fall 2:43).
10U 85-90B: Elena Mc-Coy placed 4th. She won by fall over Charlee Black (Central Kansas Young Lions) (Fall 1:00).
12U 110: Adleigh Ray placed 3rd. She won by fall over Matilda Scott (Power House) (Fall 0:28); won by fall over Rheamy Rierson (MAC Wrestling Club) (Fall 2:31).
12U 140: Lakyn McCoy placed 1st. She won an 8-0 major decision over Danika Flickinger (South Central Punishers); won by fall over Lyla Schwerdt (Thunderbird Wrestling Club) (Fall 1:07); and won by fall over Alayna Black (U-Town Hammers) (Fall 0:26).
