Area churches have planned events to observe the celebration of the birth of Christ this holiday season. The public is invited to attend the church or churches of their choice and hear the Christmas story as it is related through scripture. All are welcome to attend services. Those attending do not have to be a member of any of the churches.
Jefferson Street Baptist Church

The Jefferson Street Baptist Church invites all to join their congregation in celebrating the Christmas season.
Services and special events begin Thursday, Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. with the Christian Jam – an evening of Christmas music. On Sunday, Dec. 8 at 10:45 a.m., a Children’s Christmas Program will be presented as well as the 5th Sunday meal. Pastor John Craighead will give his farewell message, as he and wife JoAnn embark on their next chapter.
The church will host their Christmas Eve service on Tuesday, Dec. 24. The evening, featuring a candlelight service and Lord’s Supper, will begin at 6 p.m.
