Area sports teams will kick-off their 202425 winter seasons this Friday.
Eureka Tornadoes
The Eureka Tornado basketball teams will host Sedan this Friday with varsity action beginning at 6 p.m. The Tornadoes are slated to compete in the Yates Center Tournament, Dec. 9-13.
The Tornado boys and girls wrestling teams will travel to El Dorado on Saturday, Dec. 7, for the Flinthills Tournament, beginning at 9 a.m. Eureka wrestlers will then compete at the Chase County Jamboree, Dec. 12 and Minneapolis Tournament, on Saturday, Dec. 14.
Eureka’s junior high basketball teams will begin their season on Monday, Dec. 9 at home against Neodesha.
Madison Bulldogs
The Bulldogs of Madison will host Yates Center for their opening match up. Games are slated to begin at 5 p.m. Madison basketball will then compete in the Marmaton Valley Tournament, Dec. 10-13.
The junior high Bulldogs will begin their season on Thursday, Dec. 5, as they host Marais Des Cygnes Valley, beginning at 5 p.m.
West Elk Patriots
The West Elk Patriot wrestling team will travel to Burlington, on Friday, Dec. 6 for their first tournament of the season. The team will then travel to Hesston on Saturday, Dec. 14.
The basketball team will begin their season with the Humboldt Tournament, Dec. 10-13.
The junior high basketball teams will travel to CedarVale/Dexter on Thursday, Dec. 5. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
