Members of the Greenwood County Commission met on Monday, Dec. 2 for their regular weekly meeting.
During the Road and Bridge Report, Supervisor Allen Greenwood presented the agreement with Cook, Flatt and Strobel for commission signatures. This bid was approved at the previous commission meeting for work to the bridge at 250th Street west of J Road.
Greenwood shared that a meeting over the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) process was scheduled as a new FEMA representative would be taking over on Tuesday, Dec. 3 due to hurricanes.
An executive session was held for fiveminutes with Courthouse Maintenance Supervisor Greg Rawlings for discussion of employee performance. Following the session, Rawlings asked for a merit rase for staff member Jeaneen Baumberger. Commissioners approved Rawlings’ request for increasing her pay from $15 an hour and to $16 an hour.
Rawlings discussed the courthouse facility sewer system and a believed issue under the jail. It was commented that the courthouse had no ground clean out; the only access to the sewer is on the roof of the facility. A quote was received for $2,500 to scope/camera the line. Rawlings is also looking at other options including pricing the purchase cost of a camera scope unit.
Year-end bonuses were approved as follows for county employees: Fulltime $150 and Part-time $75.

Declining attendance of the county year-end dinner was noted. Commissioners discussed checking with department heads to inquire if staff would prefer a end-of-year dinner and conclude the work day at noon or $25 added to bonuses and work until 5 p.m.
Minutes of the Nov. 25 meeting were approved as written.
Special payables in the amount of $89.74 were approved.
Commissioner Paul Hodge was absent from the meeting.
