Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. We do hope your travels are safe. The long, busy weekend is sure to be filled with a Turkey day dinner, football and hanging out with family and friends. Friday brings the insanity of crazed shopping, or football and hanging with family and friends.

Saturday is shop local day; support your local small family owned businesses and, of course, more football with lots of college games. Sunday will be a hectic day with packing up everything and heading home fighting traffic, so be cautious on the roads.

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to the family of Sharon “Bear” Hall who passed away over the weekend. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

The Booster Club has been busy decorating Main Street. Someone made some neat trees out of plywood, painted them to look like decorated trees and they are attached to light poles. Once the city employees get the lights and decorations hung up, Main Street will really look nice.

Next week, firearms season kicks off on Wednesday and runs for 10 days. That means the deer are going to be even more active than they have been. If you’re driving at dusk or dawn be extra cautious.

Jesse Hoag, the Toronto Librarian, was recently presented with a “Rookie Librarian of the Year” award. I will have more on that later. She has been working hard at the library making it more user friendly.

Answer: Kine. Santa Claus is coming to town Saturday, Dec. 7 at noon to the gym. Other activities will be taking place that day beginning at 10 a.m. The Toronto Fire Department is having a free will donation hamburger feed from 12-1:30 p.m.
