Tax Statements To Be Mailed Soon

According to Greenwood County Treasurer Donna Olsen, 2024 Property Tax Statements were mailed out the end of last week.

The graphs published with this article are to assist taxpayers by showing what percentage of their tax dollar goes to the various agencies of government.

Individuals having questions concerning values should call the County Appraiser at 620583-8131. Individuals having a question concerning tax payments should call the County Treasurer at 620-583-8146. A total of 13,470 tax statementsarebeingmailed this year, as compared to 13,453 last year. The total taxes levied for 2024 are $16,028,565.01; in 2023 it was $15,323,560.61 A breakdown of taxes shows total amounts for:

Real Estate $9,729,333.73 Personal Property $437,711.17 State Assessed Taxes $5,020,859.87 Royalty Taxes $666,165.53 16/20M Trucks $79,268.32 Watercraft Taxes $35,124.70 Special Assessments $60,101.69 The total valuation of Greenwood County for the current tax year 2024 is 94,128.025 compared to 90,293.779 for 2023.

The first half tax payments are due by Dec. 20. The second half tax paymentswillbeduebyMay 10, 2025. Any individual who does not receive their tax statements by the end of next week should contact the Greenwood County Treasurer immediately.
