Tanker Trucks Caught Fire Last Thursday

Two tanker trucks were destroyed last Thursday evening, August 31, when they caught fire.

According to Eureka Fire Department (EFD) Chief Luke Westerman, EFD was dispatched to 810 E. 7th Street, Hurricane Services, Inc., in Eureka, for the report of a fire involving a tanker truck.

When crews arrived, they found two tanker trucks involved and in heavy fire conditions in the cab area of the vehicles.

Chief Westerman stated, “Crews were able to approach and extinguish the fire quickly once we determined the tankers involved were filled with water.” Both vehicles were deemed a total loss.

Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the call.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
