Toronto News

I got woken up early on Monday morning by the dogs and heard a strange noise. I listened for a bit and realized it was rain. I didn’t know it was supposed to rain. That’s why I didn’t know what the noise was.

What is the modern equivalent of the word “wamble?”

Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to all who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

This Saturday Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. the Toronto Booster Club will be decorating Main Street for Christmas. Everyone is encouraged to come help/watch. Then on Dec. 1 at 3 p.m. the Booster Club will be decorating the Gym for Christmas.

The monthly Booster Club meeting will be Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. and Santa is coming to town on Saturday, Dec. 7, along with other activities at the Gym from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

On Tuesday morning, as me and a friend were headed to Yates Center, we saw something bright, shiny and silver colored in the sky. It was just floating there. I said something to Sandy DeLucia and grabbed my phone, but before I could get a picture or video, it just flat disappeared. I wonder, did anyone else see it? Whatever “it” was.

Answer: Nauseous. I need to remember that word and when you go to your doctor cause you’re sick, you can tell him you’re wamble as well as other symptoms.

We went to Iola on Thursday morning and north of town, just before the curve, we saw about 12-14 young turkeys.

Thanksgiving is next Thursday! It used to be my favorite holiday, not so much anymore though. Can’t do all the cooking like I used to do. But, we don’t have all the people around anymore that used to come to our house. Oh well, times change.

If you’re going anywhere, allow yourself plenty of time to get there and don’t wait until the last minute to leave. If you’re driving, keep your cell phone in your pocket, purse or console not in your hand.

With increased holiday traffic, be safe, be smart and be phone free while driving.

This rain we’ve been getting is great. Hope it keeps coming until all the ponds and lakes are full, without any flooding. We certainly don't need any of that.
