The Eureka Junior High School wrestling team will conclude their 2024 season this week as they host their annual tournament this Thursday, Nov. 21 and travel to their final tournament in Coffeyville this Friday, Nov. 22. Matches at Eureka are slated to begin at 4 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m. in Coeffyville.
Eureka wrestlers competed at Fredonia and Cherryvale last week with several bringing home hardware. Following are the results for Eureka participants at Fredonia and Cherryvale last week: Fredonia Invitational Boys 60-65: Nolan Morris placed 1st. He won a 7-5 decision over Trenton Lewis (Leon-Bluestem); and won a 6-0 decision over Trenton Lewis (Leon-Bluestem).
Boys 82-86: Brandon Cornett placed 1st. He won by fall over Kooper Wiseman (Leon-Bluestem) (Fall 1:43); and won by fall over Brock Vincen (Cherryvale) (Fall 0:50).
Boys 86-90: Rydon Thatcher placed 1st. He won by fall over Roper Franks (Fredonia) (Fall 2:00); and won by fall over Harrison `Dark` Knight (Cherryvale) (Fall 1:30).
Boys 86-91: Cooper Wunderlich placed 2nd. He lost by fall to Christian Ferguson (Cherryvale) (Fall 1:35); and won by fall over Daysen Broderick (Neodesha) (Fall 1:45).

Boys 105-110: Brayden Buck placed 2nd. He won a 15-2 major decision over John Bradley (Cherryvale); and lost a 1-18 tech fall to Breckin Guenther (Humboldt).
