Named EHS Homecoming Royalty

During a special assembly last Friday afternoon, seniors Trayton Carl Biering, son of Josh and Lexie Biering of Eureka and Lyndsey Escareno, daughter of Brandon and Sara Escareno of Eureka, were named as the 2023 Eureka High School Homecoming King and Queen.

During a special assembly last Friday afternoon, seniors Trayton Carl Biering, son of Josh and Lexie Biering of Eureka and Lyndsey Escareno, daughter of Brandon and Sara Escareno of Eureka, were named as the 2023 Eureka High School Homecoming King and Queen.

The other candidates, all seniors, included: for King, Wylee Boulanger, Cole Adkins, Colby Altis and Lyle Perrier; and for Queen, Brenn Hilton, Annaliese Casper, Katie Morris and Makyla Gore.

The crown bearers were Harper Seeley and Jad Day, both first graders at Marshall Elementary School, in Eureka.

During the assembly, the band and the EHS Pop Chorale performed.

Parade Grand Marshals Bob and Janice Brown, the EHS Class of 1974 along with the Class of 2024 and other EHS graduates were recognized.

The homecoming parade followed the assembly.

Students in grades 7-12 also created banners for Homecoming week.

During halftime Friday evening, the new Queen and her court were escorted by their fathers, as well as the King candidates. The crown bearers, EHS cheerleaders, the EHS band and 2022 EHS Homecoming Queen Cady Ptacek and King Cooper Zimmers, assisted with festivities.

The Tornadoes lost their football game against Humboldt. See related article on page 7 of this week’s issue. A homecoming dance was held in the Tornado Activity Center, following the game.
