November Meeting And Achievement Banquet

Willow Valley Go-Getters Attended Achievement Banquet

The Willow Valley Go-Getters 4-H club met on Sunday, Nov. 3 and it was a lively one. The meeting was called to order and after officer reports were presented, the club discussed having a joint meeting with the Madison Pacesetters 4-H club in April. The club also voted to donate money to purchase a wheelbarrow to be used at the county fair each year. The club discussed activities to do for their annual Christmas party and decided to do a white elephant gift exchange, play games, and have a pizza party this year to celebrate. The club made “Thank You” cards to give to both the Virgil and Hamilton Fire Departments along with a case of water to commemorate their hard work in keeping their communities safe. The club sang the Star Spangled Banner and their Parliamentarian gave a tip about when the club President addresses a certain member.

At the end of the meeting, Tyler Nutsch gave an interesting project talk about the tools used in geology and Katelyn Nutsch showed the group how to make a healthy and delicious snack, apple nachos.

On Thursday, Nov. 7, several members of the Willow Valley Go-Getters 4-H Club attended the annual Greenwood County 4-H Achievement Banquet recognizing their hard work from the previous 4-H year. To start the evening off, those attendng enjoyed a nice meal of pulled pork sandwiches provided by TNT Catering. After the meal, awards were presented recognizing 4-Hers and club leader’s achievements throughout the previous 4-H year. The banquet ended with the presentation of the Alumni Award.
